FRESNO, California (KFSN) -- A pair of would-be thieves targeting a Florida home befriended someone who lives in the home -- the family dog.
Surveillance video captured the moment the two suspects arriving at the Delray Beach home, knocking on the door. But when no one answered the door -- they made their way to the backyard, where one of them made friends with the family dog.
The video shows the suspect petting him and as he made his way to the back door, the dog followed.
The homeowner says he's concerned after watching the video.
"I have kids," David Rosenbom said. "I have a family. I have a life, so I don't want anyone to come to my house, unless I invite you."
The suspects tried to break into the home by using a brick -- but couldn't get in the home because they are unbreakable hurricane-proof windows.
Police have not made any arrests in this case, but are hoping this video will help lead to some tips.
