Pelco to Furlough Thousands of Employees

Clovis, CA (KFSN) -- Clovis based Pelco is forcing thousands of employees to take time off this summer, some without pay.

The company, which specializes in video surveillance and security systems, says the change will affect about two thousand U.S. employees.

Some will be forced to take two weeks between July and August without pay. Others will be paid for up to two weeks off this summer.

Company officials blame the recession for the cutbacks.

Last month, Pelco eliminated 17 sales positions.

The company was sold to French Conglomerate Schneider Electric in 2007.
