FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Not that we're counting or anything, but Valentine's Day is this Thursday and being thoughtful goes a long way.
Their voices sound angelic and come this Valentine's Day these Fresno City College students can sing a special message to your own angel.
Fresno City College Chorale Director Julie Dana says, "Even the kids remember particular telegrams that somebody did this or they made somebody cry. It's a great way to celebrate your love and they won't forget it."
Thinking of giving a gift that gives back; try the Fresno Chaffee Zoo's Valentine's Day Adopt an Animal program that comes with a stuffed animal, candy and admission to Zoobilation.
"If you're looking for something special for your sweetheart, that's not quite the norm gift. This is exactly what you can purchase for her or him, it's great for adults and for children," Terri Mejorado said.
Or if you're looking for an athletic experience, the Fresno Grizzlies are offering tickets and a sweet delivered by a special guest.
Chris Kutz said, "Now we're going to see parker in a tuxedo in kind of that festive little spirit and bringing smiles to people's faces on a loving day,"
"If you're looking to do something low key or do-it-yourself, local grocery stores like whole foods say you have a lot of options."
This time of year, many stores sell roses and other varieties of flowers for a fraction of the price.
"You can purchase our roses for $20, so if you have a vase, a mason jar, a cool antique pitcher or whatever you want to put the roses in," Becky Cantrell-Gutierrez said.
And you can also save on sweet treats like chocolate-covered strawberries and make them at home. Just melt your chocolate chips in the microwave for 30-45 seconds and stir.
"Make sure you get a lot of chocolate on that right then boom right on your parchment to let it dry."
So this Valentine's Day there are ways to show your love in many ways.
All the proceeds raised from the Fresno City Singers Valentine's Day telegrams will help them travel to performances.
