Fresno State Students Gave Welty A List Of Demands

Tuesday, November 03, 2009

Nearly three-hundred upset students met with Fresno State President Dr. John Welty Tuesday-- and they came with a list of demands.

The intense question and answer session involved many of the same students who walked out of class last month demanding an end to class cuts and tuition hikes.

These student activists tried a new tactic, presenting Doctor Welty with a formal list of demands. They include ending furloughs and cutting the perks given to top CSU administrators.

Welty did not agree to the demands, but he says he's proud of his students and wants them to take their fight to the state.

Dr. Welty plans to meet with students again - before November 17th-- when he will talk with CSU Trustees about possible fee increases for the next school year.
