Valley vendors and residents gather for Royal Wedding

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Central Valley viewers gave up a night's sleep to watch the Royal Wedding ceremony live.

Much ado over "I do" at Premier Bride in Northwest Fresno where Friday morning they celebrated perfect pairings, pink and pajamas, tiaras and tea, champagne and orange juice, and of course, Will and Kate.

"These two people were very excited about it, very enthusiastic, kinda contagious," said Mariah Walton with Simply Flowers, "We just turned to be a couple girls wanting to have a good time at work and it turned into a bigger event and we're really excited to give more people the opportunity to be a part of it."

About two dozen men and women -- many of them wedding industry vendors -- gathered to ooh and aah over what they called the wedding of their generation.

A generation that embraced both the tradition the royals represent and the modernity of social networking. Tweets on the Royal Wedding passed 3-million in the U.S. -- double the number from during the 2011 Super Bowl. Most of the frenzy here and around the world was centered around the dress.

"Pins and needles, like what's her dress gonna be like?" said Tracy Barnes with Premier Bride Wedding Center, "Oh, her dress is stunning, just beautiful. I love the neckline, it's different with sleeves."

From London to Fresno wedding industry insiders say bridal fashion is forever changed, inspired by a lovely princess bride. So expect to see a lot of tiaras, cathedral veils, lace and sleeves on brides coming down the aisle.

"We need to be prepared for what people are going to start asking for," said Barnes.

From Kate's bridal bouquet to the horse-drawn carriage, if imitation is the best form of flattery, then Kate will be praised over and over as brides around the Valley and the world craft their own version of happily ever.

People have been commenting on ABC30's Facebook page all morning.

Joan said, "I have always been a big fan of the royal family and this is definitely a beautiful chapter in the family! Princess Diana was truly smiling on her son's precious day."

Pebbles said, "It is nice to see a genuinely happy couple, especially in the royal family."

But Justin summed up the side that didn't really care for the royal wedding: "People are entranced by monarchies for some odd reason," he said, "what a waste."
