October 20, 2005 -- It's considered a key piece of the plan to revitalize Downtown Fresno. This weekend, Mayor Alan Autry will travel east to discuss the possibility of bringing Bass Pro to Fresno.
Mayor Alan Autry has planned a trip to Missouri to meet with representative from Forest City Enterprises.
Fresno City Councilmember Tom Boyajian says no deal has been made. He says it's simply a chance for the mayor to talk about the possibility of bringing Bass Pro to town.
The city council recently gave Forest City a 15 month extension to finalize plans for the South Stadium Project.
The developer has plans to build shops, housing and commercial office space between Grizzlies Stadium and Freeway 41.
