03/19/2007 (KFSN) -- On Tuesday, the Fresno City Council will look at Mayor Alan Autry's proposal to condemn federal immigration raids.
The Mayor says sweeps like this one violate the civil rights of the children of illegal immigrants who are left behind.
Mayor Autry is asking the City Attorney to file a lawsuit against the federal government.
Tuesday, Mendota's City Council will also consider a resolution that includes some of Mayor Autry's ideas. Mendota's Mayor acknowledges federal sweeps will likely continue, but the resolution is more about making a statement.
