Three Valley Schools Honored for Committment to Kids' Health and Fitness

04/19/2007 (KFSN) -- Thursday morning, awards were handed out participation in the "Kids Fitness Challenge."

Last month, the Fresno County Office of Education and ABC-30 sponsored the Fitness Challenge at Chukchansi Park. It featured soccer stars from the Fresno Fuego and was meant to encourage local children to eat healthy food and be active.

All schools with at least 65 kids participating received a cash grant from the Fitness Challenge Foundation.

Both Yosemite Middle and Sunset Elementary schools in Fresno received $2,500 for their fitness programs. The $4,000 grand prize went to McCabe Elementary School in Mendota.
