A security guard at Fig Garden Village had to call for help when he found a child left inside an SUV, despite the intense heat.

The boy's mother watched as paramedics worked on her son after he got out of the SUV late Sunday morning.

She admitted to leaving him inside the SUV while she shopped, but she says he can't regulate his temperature, so he prefers it hot.

The security guard says the boy looked very uncomfortable, so he got firefighters involved. Michael Estrada, Turner Security, says "I saw the kid in this car right here, the Trailblazer, sweating profusely. The windows were cracked and the woman claims that she was in there for 10 to 15 minutes. The child was in the passenger seat and he was... Looked like he was crying and it was an awful sight."

The boy's mother saw firefighters trying to get in the SUV and she let her son out.

Police talked to the mother while he got treatment. They gave her a ticket for endangering her child, but they didn't arrest her and she was able to take her son home.
