UPDATE: Ireland's Mother Sought Psychiatric Help

Fresno, CA, USA (KFSN) -- Action News has learned new details about the death of a ten-year-old Fresno boy.

The defense attorney for Lebaron Vaughn said Vaughn and the child's mother tried to get help at a psychiatric office the day before Seth Ireland's death, but were turned away.

Vaughn and Rena Ireland face child abuse charges connected to the boy's death. Police claim Seth was beaten to death in December.

Family members had suspected the boy was being abused. Both the police and Sheriff's Department said they notified C.P.S. about prior incidents with the family.

Both defendants will return to court next month.
