Monday, officials kicked off the "Be A Santa To A Senior" program. Through the program, the community is being encouraged to stop by one of many Walgreens' locations around the Valley to pick up an ornament, which has the wish list of a participating senior.Gifts will be left at the Walgreens locations, and then wrapped before being delivered.
"Theres nothing worse than being forgotten...and often seniors are mostly forgotten, so it's important for us to take a moment and reflect on what's truly important and that is just to be kind and to be a Santa to a senior," said Dan Philipps.
The program is now in its sixth year. Last year, more than 800 gifts were delivered to local needy seniors.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
