Standoff Ends in Merced, Two Suspects in Custody

  

Merced, Calif. (KFSN) -- A four-hour swat standoff in Merced is over ... with two men in custody. Officers surrounded a home near 20th Street and glen, near a Merced elementary school.

This all started around 3:00 Wednesday afternoon with a report of gunfire. An officer went to a nearby home and detained one man who denied firing any weapons.

A swat team surrounded the home, and hours later ... they caught a second suspect trying escape out the back door.

The standoff led to a lockdown of nearby Charles Wright Elementary School.

When officers finally entered the home, they found a shotgun. The two men are now being questioned.
