House found empty after standoff in Clovis

Monday, November 29, 2010

Police arrested one man suspected of being involved with a robbery and assault two hours after the standoff began. Officers believed there was another man inside and that he was possibly armed.

Police waited it out several more hours, but the home turned out to be empty.

Clovis Police say, Monday afternoon, a woman reported her boyfriend had been beaten by four men who stole his wallet and forced him into his own car. The investigation took officers to a home on Barstow and Malio Drive. That's where police arrested one man after two hours.

The S.W.A.T. team was called in and they entered the home around 3 a.m. Tuesday morning believing another armed man was inside. No one was found.

The victim was taken to the hospital and released Monday night.

The investigation is still ongoing.
