Attic fire in Fresno home

Two people are out of their home after an attic fire in southeast Fresno. It happened just after 1:15 Monday morning at Kerchoff and Third.

Fresno firefighters tell Action News the fire in the home started inside the wall and spread to the attic. Two people inside the home were able to escape and firefighters were able to quickly contain the flames.

Damage to the home is now estimated at $40,000.

The Red Cross is now assisting the two people who were living inside the home.

No word yet on what caused the fire.
