Protesters ask for peace on Christmas

Sunday, December 26, 2010

More than a dozen people spent part of their Christmas at a busy Fresno intersection asking for peace this holiday season.

A man dressed as Santa joined members of Peace Fresno at Shaw and Blackstone Saturday afternoon as the group held signs, protesting the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Members of the group said war is not the answer to terrorism.

"We need to bring our troops home now from Afghanistan and Iraq. Ho Ho Ho! Peace on Earth!"

The Santa look-alike says peace on earth would be defined as people all over the world living in harmony -- and supporting each other's needs.
