Juliani Cardenas honored by motorcycle ride

Sunday, February 06, 2011

Hundreds of people in the North Valley took part in a memorial ride in honor of a murdered 4-year-old boy.

About 700 people showed up for the motorcycle ride from Patterson to Modesto Saturday, in memory of Juliani Cardenas.

His body was found last week in the Delta-Mendota Canal after authorities say his mother's ex-boyfriend kidnapped him and drove him into the water.

At the end of the ride, Juliani's mother met with the aunt of Sandra Cantu, she's the 8-year-old Tracy girl who went missing and was found murdered in 2009.

"It gives you a feeling of control that you don't have just thinking of Juliani and Sandra...they're in heaven playing together in heaven, I know."

"She knows what I'm going through...she's been there. She said that we're in a club that we don't want to be in," Tabitha Cardenas said.

Investigators still have not found Juliani's alleged kidnapper, Jose Rodriguez...but they believe his body is also in the canal.
