FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- We've learned the names of the two U.C. Merced students killed in a car crash near the campus Saturday morning.
The two victims have been identified as 19-year-old Jessica Lopez from Five Points and 19-year-old Leslie Alvarez from Laton.
Lopez and Alvarez along with an 18-year-old man and 19-year-old woman had just left campus less than five minutes before the crash. They were heading toward Fresno County to spend Easter with their families.
The C.H.P. says distracted driving is most likely the cause of the crash.
