Jessica Lopez and Leslie Alvarez, 19, died when their car crashed near the campus on Saturday.
Students brought flowers and pictures of the young women to the center of campus as friends shared stories of the two.
Lopez and Alvarez were heading home to Fresno County for the Easter weekend when their car crashed into a power pole. Friends say their loss is hard to measure in words.
Counselors are available on campus to help students affected by the tragedy. Another memorial will be held Wednesday night at 7:00 in the U.C. Merced gym.
