The California Highway Patrol says the crash happened just outside of Kingsburg on Bethel and Clarkson.
Authorities say 17-year-olds Anthony Caro and Jesse Lujan of Selma died in the accident. Their friends are posting messages and remembrances on our ABC30 Facebook page.
Investigators say the two were going through an intersection and drove right into the path of another car. The driver of that other vehicle has been identified as 34-year-old Anthony Shepherd.
Shepherd left the scene even though officers say he wasn't at fault. So far he hasn't been found.
Two others in Shepherd's vehicle suffered major injuries.
