Man stabbed at a Fresno gas station

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- One person rushed to the hospital after a stabbing at an east central Fresno gas station.

The stabbing happened at the Fastrip at Chestnut and Clinton. Action News learned the victim has non-life threatening injuries. He is being treated at Community Regional Medical Center.

Detectives are still looking for the man who stabbed the victim. Investigators say the stabbing was the result of a fight between friends. The suspect and the victim were drinking together outside the market, when they started arguing. That's when the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed his friend several times.

When officers arrived, the victim was on the ground, but the suspect had already taken off in the victim's car.

Lt. Burke Farrah said, "The suspect vehicle is a black five series BMW that was last seen leaving the scene eastbound on Clinton from Chestnut, so we're working with our patrol officers and our special units to check a couple of places where he might be."

The suspect is described as armed and dangerous. Investigators say he is a heavy-set Hispanic male, about 5-8 in his late twenties, with several tattoos on his neck.
