Fresno County man opens fire on burglary suspects

Tuesday, April 24, 2012

Fresno County Sheriff's Deputies are looking for two suspected burglars who were shot-at while they tried to break-in to a home.

Investigators say a man drove by his parent's home Monday night and interrupted a burglary. Deputies say a chase followed, then the man shot at the suspects.

The Sheriff's Department used its helicopter and search dogs to look for the men. An ambulance was called for the man who chased the suspects.

"One of the victims, I believe one of the gentlemen that owns the house, he was complaining about pain -- I believe its his back or his leg. He was having trouble standing. I believe he suffered those injuries while he was chasing the suspects," said Chris Curtice with the Fresno County Sheriff's Department.

One person was questioned, but at this point investigators haven't been able to determine if he was involved in the burglary.
