FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Two people are in jail after police say they stabbed two others in East Central Fresno.
Police say the stabbing happened around 10 p.m. Wednesday night outside a home on University near Chestnut. Fresno police say a man and a woman were stabbed in the torso and were taken to Community Regional Medical Center. Authorities say their injuries are not life-threatening.
Officers arrested two men minutes later, who they say are responsible for the stabbing.
Authorities say the two victims are family members and they're still trying to figure out why they were targeted.
"Vehicle came by, words exchanged, occupants of the car got out and became involved with our two victims were injured," said Tom Rowe with the Fresno Police Department.
Fresno Police say they recovered the knife used in the stabbing. The names of the victims have not yet been released.
