Summer starts off with a bang for some Fresno kids

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Children in a Valley-wide summer program kicked off weeks of fun, with a bang.

A man popular in the world of stunts was shot out of a cannon Wednesday morning, in front of hundreds of kids.

Chachi Valencia, also known as Rocketman, blasted out about 180 feet for the Kids Kare celebration at the Fresno Fairgrounds.

Wednesday marked the first day of fun for the kids, who will spend their summer going on field trips and science excursions.

The Kids Kare chain has eleven facilities throughout the Valley.
