FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- One man is in jail and police are still looking for a second man they say tried to steal a car from a Downtown Fresno park Tuesday night.
Officers spent several hours overnight looking for the man. Authorities say the attempted car theft happened at Fink-White Park on San Joaquin and B Streets.
Fresno Police say the car's owner was playing soccer when someone alerted him that two men were trying to break into his car. The man ran up his car and found two Hispanic men trying to drive off with the car.
"As he began yelling at them one of them pulled up his shirt and revealed some type of weapon but we're not sure yet... Then they ran off to a nearby alley," said Sgt. Joey Alvarez with the Fresno Police Department.
Fresno Police officers showed up and chased after the two suspects. Authorities say a K9 unit assisted in the pursuit. One man was arrested and investigators are now interviewing him to find the second man.
