Valley resident celebrates 108th birthday

Saturday, September 15, 2012

A longtime Valley resident blew out 108 candles to celebrate her birthday on Friday.

There weren't really that many candles on the cake, but that is how old she turned today. Family and friends gathered at the Nazareth House in Central Fresno to help Agnes Walsh celebrate her huge milestone.

Family members tell Action News the secret to her long life is avoiding being upset.

"We've known her our whole lives and have never seen her get mad ever," niece Anne Mandigo said. "She maintains her cool all the time."

Agnes was born on September 14, 1904 in Reedley. She didn't move to Fresno until she was 99 years old.
