Merced bus driver arrested on sex charges

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Merced bus driver was arrested after police say an officer discovered him in the back of a car with a 17-year-old female student.

On Tuesday, September 11th, a Merced Police officers stopped to check a suspicious vehicle parked in an alley between 8th and 9th Ave. According to the Merced Police Department, the officer saw 58-year-old bus driver Efrain Orozco and a 17-year-old student in the back of the car with their pants down. The officer said both attempted to pull their pants up while he was talking to them.

According to police, an investigation revealed Orozco was a bus driver in Merced, and the 17-year-old was a student that rode on Orozco's bus. Police say Orozco and the victim met in the alleyway shortly after Orozco completed his school bus route.

Orozco was book into the Merced County Jail on charges of contact with a minor with the intent to commit sexual acts.
