Officer-involved shooting in the city of Tulare

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Officers with the Tulare Police Department responded to a report of a theft at a Mini-Mart in the 500 block of West Inyo Street, within the city of Tulare.

Officers arrived and began investigating the incident. A male subject was contacted possibly involved in the theft in the 200 block of S F Street. An altercation with the subject ensued resulting in an officer discharging a firearm. The male subject received a gunshot wound and was transported to Tulare Regional Medical Center.

The incident is currently under investigation by Tulare County Sherriff's Office and there is no further information to provide at this time.
