Merced PD shut down suspected prostitution ring

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Merced police say they shut down a prostitution ring involving underage girls.

Officers discovered the operation at the Motel 6 on V Street Saturday. Authorities tried to talk to a man in the parking lot when he sped away in a car. Authorities say the driver threw a fully loaded gun out of the window.

They also saw someone run into one of the motel rooms.

Inside the motel room, authorities found 31-year-old Raul Flores. They say he was in the room with a 15-year-old and a lap top computer, on a website used for arranging dates.

Officers later found two more underage girls that were believed to be involved. Investigators say all of the male suspects in the case are validated bulldog gang members from Fresno.
