Wednesday, November 04, 2009

Disney is one giant step closer to opening its first theme park on mainland China.

Disney says the Chinese government has approved plans for a theme park in Shanghai.

The new park would be located in Shanghai's Pudong District.

Final details still need to be worked out.

Disney CEO Bob Iger says it will be a magic kingdom-style park, with characteristics tailored to the Shanghai region.

Disney is the parent company of ABC30.
