Farmers In 23 Calif. Counties To Get Federal Drought Loans

Saturday, June 09, 2007

Farmers in 23 California counties will soon be eligible for low-interest loans to recoup losses from the region's worsening drought conditions.

Governor Schwarzenegger's office says the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Small Business Administration have declared drought-related disasters in the counties.

Farmers and ranchers who can prove losses caused by dry weather since October will be eligible for loans up to $500,000.
