People in Merced County are cleaning up the damage caused by the powerful wind that swept across the area Tuesday.

In Merced, a basketball hoop crashed into a car, shattering the windshield. The wind also toppled several trees, including one that slammed into a medical office building on Olive Avenue.

And some businesses also had their awnings torn apart by the wild weather. City crews spent the day cleaning up the damage.
