WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM PDT WEDNESDAY ABOVE 6000 FEET... A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY ABOVE 6000 FEET REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM PDT WEDNESDAY FOR THE SOUTHERN SIERRA NEVADA FROM YOSEMITE TO KINGS CANYON.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: UP TO A FOOT ABOVE 7500 FEET...AND 4 TO 8 INCHES NEAR 6500 FEET.

* TIMING: LIGHT SNOW WILL BEGIN THIS EVENING...BECOMING HEAVY AT TIMES LATE TONIGHT AND WEDNESDAY MORNING. SNOW WILL DECREASE DURING THE AFTERNOON WEDNESDAY...AND MOSTLY END BY THE EVENING.

* SNOW LEVEL: INITIALLY ABOVE 7000 FEET THIS EVENING. THE SNOW LEVEL WILL FALL TO AROUND 6500 FEET OVERNIGHT. THE SNOW LEVEL MAY LOWER TO 5500 TO 6000 FEET IN HEAVIER SNOW SHOWERS.

* LOCATIONS INCLUDE: TUOLUMNE MEADOWS...WISHON...HUNTINGTON LAKE...MARIPOSA GROVE. THE HEAVIEST SNOW WILL BE IN THE YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK AREA...WITH DECREASING AMOUNTS SOUTHWARD.

* IMPACTS: SNOW WILL MAKE TRAVEL DIFFICULT ON MOUNTAIN ROADS ABOVE 6000 FEET. RESIDENTS SHOULD PREPARE FOR WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS.
