(KGO) -- A group of Bay Area supporters of President Obama took their effort to re-elect the president to new heights. They attached a bobblehead doll of the president to a weather balloon and launched it into space.
Video from a camera attached to the balloon shows it being launched from Crissy Field in San Francisco. It climbed to an altitude of 100,000 feet, high enough to see the curvature of the earth before it made a rapid descent.
The stunt was done to draw attention to yard sale fundraisers being held this weekend to raise money for the campaign.
