SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Even if San Franciscans are soon living in smaller spaces, they'll be shopping in much larger ones.
Walgreens is planning to open "Mega Walgreens" in Union Square. The new store will expand Walgreens current space on Powell Street near O'Farrell. It will be two stories and will include a bakery, fresh produce, a juice and coffee bar, and a custom cosmetics department.
Construction is scheduled to start in October and the store should open by next May.
