Toyota Recalls Vehicles Over Faulty Engine

Tuesday, July 18, 2006

Toyota has announced a major worldwide recall of more than 400,000 vehicles.

Here in the U.S., the recalled cars include more than 25,000 2001 models of Echo and Yaris, as well as nearly 8,500 2001 Prius vehicles.

Toyota says the cars have a faulty engine part that could lead to an oil leak, causing the engine to stop completely. No accidents are reported.
