SAN FRANCISCO -- Organizers of the Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park Tuesday announced the dates for next year's festival.
The three-day event will run from Aug. 9-11, 2013, according to the Berkeley-based Another Planet Entertainment.
The announcement came much earlier than in past years -- the dates for the 2012 festival weren't announced until March.
The lineup for the 2013 festival has not yet been made public. This year's headliners included Metallica, Stevie Wonder, Neil Young and the Foo Fighters.
A portion of the proceeds from Outside Lands ticket sales will benefit the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department.
Updates about the event can be found on the festival's website at www.sfoutsidelands.com.
