ATLANTA -- Usher's ex-wife has asked for an emergency custody hearing after one of the pair's sons nearly drowned in a pool at the singer's Atlanta home.
A lawyer for Tameka Foster Raymond filed the request in Fulton County Superior Court Tuesday. It says the boy "suffered a near-death accident" while left unsupervised in a pool at the Grammy winner's home.
A judge has set a hearing for Friday.
Atlanta police have said 5-year-old Usher Raymond V on Monday fell to the bottom of pool and became stuck in the drain. Police say he was alert and conscious when he was pulled from the pool and was taken to a hospital.
The singer was awarded primary physical custody of his two sons last year.
