The study was done by Consumers Union, a non-profit organization that publishes Consumer Report Magazine. The study found foods with the highest levels of BPA are: Del Mote fresh cut green beans, Progresso vegetable soup and Campbell's condensed chicken noodle soup.

BPA is a plastic-hardener commonly found in baby bottles and other food containers. Some studies have linked the chemical to an increased risk of cancer and diabetes.

The Food and Drug Administration says it is reviewing evidence on BPA's health effects, but has ruled that it was safe in food packaging.

California's legislature recently voted against a bill that would have banned BPA.
