Parents can call 211 for whooping cough vaccine info

Tuesday, August 02, 2011

Parents can now dial just three digits on their phone to find out how to get their children vaccinated against whooping cough in time for the start of school.

Anyone who calls 211 can find out where to get the vaccine, how much it costs and who's required to get vaccinated in order to attend school.

New California law requires students entering seventh through 12th grade to get the vaccination before the 30th day of the school year.

211 is free and provides translators in more than 150 languages.
