Ward transferred to Oklahoma prison

Wednesday, October 08, 2008
Michael Pritchard

The ABC7 I-Team has learned that U.S. Marshalls have moved former KGO Radio host Bernie Ward from the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin to a federal prison in Oklahoma.

Ward was sentenced in August to more than seven years on child pornography charges.

The facility in Oklahoma is the nation's only transfer center for the federal prison system. There's still a chance Ward could be sent to the minimum security prison in Lompoc, as he requested when he was convicted.
