KaBoom Concert Prompts Street Closures

Saturday, May 13, 2006

The Municipal Transportation Agency will close a portion of the Embarcadero Saturday night to help pedestrians travel safely to and from the KaBoom concert and fireworks show in San Francisco.

According to MTA spokeswoman Maggie Lynch, the Embarcadero roadway between Mission and Townsend streets will be closed between 8 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. to accommodate pedestrians.

MTA will also reroute the No. 12 Folsom-Pacific Muni line beginning at 7:30 p.m. to ease the traffic situation.

Extra Metro service will be provided around 9:30 p.m. for those wishing to use public transportation after the show ends.

The 13th Annual KaBoom event kicks off at 4 p.m. at Pier 30/32. Fireworks are set to start at 9 p.m., MTA reported.
