Colliding Gravel Trucks Close Silverado Trail

Thursday, May 24, 2007

A collision between two gravel trucks has closed Silverado Trail just outside Napa city limits, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The trucks collided on Silverado Trail at Hardman Avenue around 2 p.m. when one of them pulled back onto the road from the shoulder and was struck broadside by a second gravel truck traveling northbound on Silverado Trail, CHP Officer Jaret Paulson said. Only minor injuries were reported.

One of the diesel trucks overturned on its roof and was briefly leaking fluid, Paulson said.

Silverado Trail is closed between Hardman Avenue and Trancas Street and two trucks are on the scene.

Paulson said it's unknown how long the road will remain closed.
