Phone Of Missing Sacramento Woman Tracked To SF

Monday, October 01, 2007

The search for a woman missing from Sacramento since Saturday has made its way to San Francisco, after the woman's cell phone was tracked to an area near Golden Gate Park.

Sandra Kelsey, a 24-year-old Sacramento librarian, was reported missing Saturday by her mother, Sacramento police Sgt. Matt Young said, after she failed to show up for work at the El Dorado County Library. Police tracked her cell phone, and learned that the last known location of the phone was near the park late Saturday morning. It has since been turned off, Young said.

Kelsey is described by friends and family as "very reliable, the kind of person who always shows up for work on time," which is why police are so concerned.

"This is totally out of character for her," Young said.

Kelsey was last seen Saturday morning in a coffee shop in midtown Sacramento, Young said. She is described as having fair skin, brown eyes and red hair, according to Young. She is 5 feet 9 inches and weighs around 175 pounds. She drives a silver, small model Kia with the license plate 5WMU818.

San Francisco police are assisting Sacramento officers with the case, Sgt. Steve Mannina confirmed.
