Oakland Airport Terminals Reopened After Bomb Threat

Monday, October 08, 2007

There were still some delays Monday evening at Oakland International Airport after a bomb scare prompted an evacuation.

Airport security evacuated Oakland's Terminal 2 building at about 1:00 p.m. Monday afternoon when somebody called in a specific threat to a Southwest Airlines flight arriving from Los Angeles.

They moved Flight 337 to a remote tarmac, pulled all the bags off the plane and brought in bomb sniffing dogs to make sure it was all a hoax.

Passengers all had to wait it out on sidewalks in front of the terminal.

The terminal re-opened about an hour later.
