Bart passengers to ride love train

Wednesday, February 13, 2008

Representatives from the online dating Web site Engage.com will hand out free roses and last-minute love advice at the Montgomery Street Bay Area Rapid Transit Train station on Valentine's Day, organizers announced.

Roses with attached gift tags will be distributed from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Thursday at the station's main ticketing area. It's all a part of the online company's Valentine's Day "Love Train" event, organizers said.

The event will include a performance by an acoustic guitar player, who will play love songs. BART riders will also have the opportunity to write the name of a loved one on a poster for a Polaroid photo opportunity, creating a personalized "I Love You" message, organizers said.

Commuters will be offered last-minute Valentine's Day advice from Trish McDermott, Engage.com's vice president of love.

Engage.com is a San Mateo-based company that provides an online social dating community, according to the company.
