A funeral was held Saturday afternoon for a 49-year-old cyclist killed this week by a hit-and-run driver in Martinez.

The service followed a memorial bike ride around noon Saturday.

Other cyclists wanted to remember Mark Pendleton of Martinez; a husband and father of two boys.

He was hit Monday while riding on McEwan Road near State Highway 4.

"Cycling is a huge community. And, it's not only for Mark that people are turning out. I think it's to protect all cyclists on the road," said Mark's wife Denise.

The reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the hit-run-driver has grown to $5,000.

Investigators believe the vehicle was possibly a Chevrolet Silverado or a similar style pickup truck or sport utility vehicle.
