'Anonymous' releases Oakland officials' personal info

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- The hacker group Anonymous is at it again, this time it has targeted Oakland Mayor Jean Quan and other top Oakland city officials.

The group has now posted the personal information of the mayor, the city council, the city administrator and the police chief online. The details include home addresses, phone numbers, birthdays and email addresses. The mayor refused to comment on the release saying it was all public information.

City Councilman Ignacio De La Fuente says it's a risk that comes with being a public figure.

"All of us obviously are exposed. I think we definitely have to be careful. We have to watch over our shoulders, but I will not be intimidated by this," said De La Fuente.

The group says it released the information because it's disgusted and shocked by the way the city handled the Occupy protests -- including the arrest of more than 400 protesters during the January 28 protest, where demonstrators broke into Oakland City Hall.
