Police search for man responsible for fake vehicle abatement letters
Friday, July 27, 2012
Police are searching for a man responsible for placing fake vehicle abatement letters in Pleasant Hill.
Police say the suspect is a hispanic male in his late 20s to early 30s. The fake letters look official, with the city's logo and insignia on them.
Abatement refers to programs designed to remove abandoned cars. Police say the suspect probably wants the owners to sell their cars to him for less. Police say the man is driving a black Audi and the license plate number is 4ASN540. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Pleasant Hill Police Department Patrol and Investigation Divisions 925-228-4600.
