RICHMOND, Calif. -- A man died after being shot while driving in Richmond on Sunday evening, police said.
Richmond police Capt. Mark Gagan said the victim was shot as he drove on Harbor Way at about 5:30 p.m. but managed to continue for three blocks before crashing into a tree near Seventh Street and Ohio Avenue.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim was identified by the Contra Costa County coroner's office today as Samuel Morales, a 24-year-old Richmond resident.
Gagan said detectives are investigating the shooting but don't yet have any information about a motive or suspects.
Gagan said there is a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case, and anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Lt. Louie Tirona at (510) 620-6613. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call (510) 232-8477.
