Marin deputies need help solving string of robberies

Friday, July 15, 2011

Marin County sheriff's deputies hope tips from the public will help them stop a series of robberies in Marin.

The latest crime took place on Tuesday when three young men robbed an ice cream truck driver at gunpoint on Terners Drive. They ran away into a nearby public housing complex after taking $160.

Thieves have also targeted commuters at the Marin City bus stop during the past month.

Deputies point out it's hard to identify the robbers because they were wearing dark hooded sweatshirts and black jeans.
